For starters, I always like to include a picture for the blog I want to talk about; and I'll have you know, that when I typed in "Abortion" to google images, I was soon aware of how that was a big mistake. Don't go looking at picture of aborted babies on google images. Anyways, I wanted to blog about abortion only because I've heard people talking about it SO MUCH lately. It seems everywhere I go I hear someone talking about whether abortion should or should not be legal. In my opinion, I must say I am a little shaky as to where I stand on this debate. To be perfectly honest, if someone came up to me and asked me about my thoughts on abortion, I'd probably turn around and walk away-- so this is a one time deal.
It's understandable for a woman to want to abort her child. Flat-out. However, there has to be a good reason for doing so. Let's say the woman was raped and does not want to have a child half belonging to the rapist. That is a perfectly good reason to get an abortion. (Who wouldn't want to get an abortion after something like that? Just starring at the kid would bring back horrific memories.) On the other hand, if a woman "accidentally" gets pregnant, then she shouldn't get an abortion; for, I see it as her own fault. (Purely opinion, though) I just don't see why someone would want to waste a perfectly good life like that. You don't have to keep the child, just let it live....
Some people HAVE to have a perfect child. They cannot settle for anything less. So, if there is anything that they find out is wrong with the baby before birth, they don't want anything to do with it. What do they do then? Get it aborted. Again, I still see a problem there. Unless getting an abortion is putting the child out of it's misery, you should let it live! For the second time, you don't have to keep it. Put the child up for adoption.
I think the hardest place to stand when it comes to abortion is when a teenager is pregnant. Do you put the girl through the whole thing, or do you abort the child? What's the right thing to do there? I personally see the rights and wrongs of both sides on this matter. So if my opinion was asked here, I'd have to say let the girl and her family decide what to do.
But you know, condoms and birth control were invented for reason.
